Luesia Biel hiking route04 Jun 2014 Hiking, Prepirineo
This coming 14 June, in partnership with Posada La Pastora, we have organised a walking route between Luesia and Biel, one of the prettiest of the Cinco Villas.
It will be an easy day's walk (for people who are used to walking in the countryside), where we can quietly enjoy the Pre-Pyrenees in the best season of the year.
The walk will be guided by Miguel, from Posada La Pastora, who is a biologist, native of Uncastillo and hugely knowledgeable about the area. We will also be taking a GPS with the path to follow, to get into the habit of using this technology that is ever more present on our trips.
The walk will be 13.5 km and has a total of 500 metres elevation gain. Bearing in mind that the pace will be slow, the total duration will be about 4 hours.
It is a beautiful and very varied walk. Pines, beech and Holm oak groves, peaks and gullies, scrub land... it is all here on this route, which will also provide us with some magnificent views across the Sierra de Santo Domingo.
Some of the landmarks we will pass are Fuent'Isicar, the Refugio de l'Artica, the Bal beech woods, the Ripas Altas ravine and the Arba de Biel river.
As a reward for all our effort, a magnificent meal will be waiting for us at the restaurant, one of the best gastronomic spots in Cinco Villas.
After tucking into our meal, we will have a look around the castle, the church and Biel's Jewish quarter.
We are planning on travelling back by car from Biel to Luesia, where we will have left the cars in the morning.
